Privacy.
A short, plain statement of what Voiacast does — and doesn't — do with your voice and your information.
In plain English
- Your voice is processed on your Mac and discarded as soon as your words appear on screen.
- Nothing is uploaded, recorded, or sent anywhere by Voiacast in the default configuration.
- There is no account, no newsletter, no profile, no contact list.
- Donations route through PayPal. The license key is emailed to the address on your PayPal account.
- The website sets no cookies. The Mac app ships no telemetry by default.

Your voice
By default, Voiacast turns your voice into text on your Mac and discards the audio as soon as your words land on screen. Nothing is uploaded, recorded, or sent anywhere by Voiacast.
If you turn on the optional cloud transcription mode (Pro), your audio is sent to the AI provider whose key you entered, using a key only you hold. We don’t sit in the middle of that connection — your audio goes from your Mac to the provider you chose.
Your words
Your transcribed words are typed into the text field your cursor was already in. We don’t store them, save them, or send them anywhere.
Your custom dictionary lives in a file on your Mac and stays there.
No accounts, no email lists
Voiacast doesn’t ask you to sign up. There’s no account, no newsletter, no profile, no contact list. The license key is the only thing tying you to your copy of the app, and it lives only on your Mac.
License keys
When you become an early adopter, we ask our licensing partner to issue a license key for you, and we email it to you. We don’t store anything about you on our side beyond what’s needed to send that one email.
The key validates against the licensing partner so the app can confirm it’s still good. The check is brief and contains no audio, no transcripts, and no usage data.
Donations
Donations go through PayPal. We see the donation amount and the email address you used on PayPal — that’s the address we send the license to. We don’t see your card number, address, or PayPal password. PayPal’s own privacy notice covers what they handle.
Telemetry
We use a self-hosted, privacy-respecting analytics setup that does not use cookies or store any personally identifying information. It counts how many people visit which page and where they came from, in aggregate, and nothing else.
The Mac app ships no telemetry by default. There’s an opt-in toggle in settings for anonymous crash reports if you want to help us catch bugs. It never includes audio or transcripts, even when it’s on.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. PayPal’s own pages, when you donate, may set cookies under their own domain — that’s covered by PayPal’s privacy notice.
